SMS & MMS Carrier Fees

Updated over a week ago

Call Loop passes through wireless carrier fees directly to customers with no markup. These per-message fees are set by mobile carriers, not by Call Loop, and vary based on the type of number used (10DLC, Toll-Free, or Short Code). Fees apply to both U.S. and Canadian messages and are billed separately from credits. Please see the carrier fee schedule below for details..

Call Loop does not mark up any additional costs, we simply pass these costs down to you straight from the carriers.

The total carrier fee will be:

1000 x $0.004 = $4.00

You may also see it rounded in the invoice like:

SMS Carrier Fees: 400 x $0.01 = $4.00

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it possible to predict the cost of these carrier fees ahead of time?

Since your unique contact list, message type (SMS/MMS), and message volume will determine the cost, it's difficult to predict additional costs. For most customers, the cost will be minimal.

If you wish to estimate the additional cost, here's a rough breakdown you can use.

What will it look like on my invoice?

On your invoice, you'll see the items listed as SMS Carrier Fees and MMS Carrier Fees. We get this information from our vendor for messaging carrier fees and pass this down to you with no markup.

What Happens if Payment Fails?

If we cannot process the carrier fee payment after multiple attempts, your account may be temporarily suspended from sending messages until the balance is resolved.

This ensures that all carrier obligations are met and delivery continues without interruption.

Viewing and Understanding Carrier Fees

You can view and download your invoices anytime from your Billing Overview page. Carrier fees are tracked daily and charged separately from your monthly plan or message credits.

Youโ€™ll be billed for carrier fees under the following conditions, whichever comes first:

  • At the end of your monthly billing cycle

  • Every 30 days, if you're on an annual plan

  • When your accumulated carrier fees exceed $100

These fees reflect actual per-message charges from wireless carriers and are passed through with no markup.

Key Points to Remember

  • Carrier fees are non-negotiable and set by mobile networks.

  • They are charged in addition to the credits used per message.

  • Youโ€™ll see all carrier fee activity in your billing section or invoice.
