NEW! Quiet Hours and Contact Timezone Explained

Learn how Quiet Hours and Contact Timezone work together so your messages reach every contact at the right time, wherever they are.

Overview

Call Loop has two new features that change when your messages get delivered.

Quiet Hours is a safety net. When it's on, Call Loop only delivers messages between 8:00 AM and 9:00 PM in each contact's local time. Anything scheduled or triggered outside that window is held and sent when the window opens.

Contact Timezone is a scheduling option. When you schedule a broadcast, you can send it based on each contact's local time instead of your account's timezone.

The big impact: Used together, these features make sure your messages reach contacts at reasonable, compliant hours. That means fewer late-night or early-morning texts, and no manual timezone math when your list spans the country.

You enable each feature separately. Instructions for both are below.

How Call Loop knows a contact's timezone

Both features rely on each contact's timezone. Call Loop sets it automatically from the area code of the contact's phone number.

Quiet Hours

What it does

With Quiet Hours on, outbound messages are delivered only during this window in each contact's local time:

  • Earliest send time: 8:00 AM

  • Latest send time: 9:00 PM

Quiet Hours applies to broadcasts, campaigns, and any other scheduled or triggered messages.

What happens to messages outside the window

They're held and delivered automatically at 8:00 AM, when the next sending window opens in the contact's timezone.

For example, if you schedule a broadcast for midnight, each contact receives it at 8:00 AM their local time.

Test messages are exempt

Test messages you send to yourself skip Quiet Hours, so you can preview your content at any hour.

How to enable Quiet Hours

  1. Go to Settings.

  2. Select Company.

  3. Open Conversations.

  4. Turn on Quiet Hours.

Once enabled, Quiet Hours applies to all outbound messages from then on, including broadcasts and campaigns that were already scheduled.

Contact Timezone

What it does

By default, scheduled broadcasts go out based on your account's timezone. With Send Using Contact Timezone, the scheduled time is applied to each contact's own local time.

How to enable Contact Timezone

  1. Go to Broadcasts and create or edit a broadcast.

  2. Go to the Schedule step.

  3. Select Send Later and choose your date and time.

  4. Turn on Send Using Contact Timezone.

Better together

Contact Timezone helps you pick the right time, and Quiet Hours protects you if a message would land at the wrong time. For example, a broadcast scheduled for 8:30 PM using contact timezones reaches everyone at 8:30 PM their local time, which is inside Quiet Hours. Without Contact Timezone, an 8:30 PM Eastern send would also reach Pacific contacts at 5:30 PM. Quiet Hours makes sure no one gets a message at 2:00 AM regardless of how a send was scheduled.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to set anything up?
Yes. Quiet Hours is turned on once in your company settings. Contact Timezone is chosen for each broadcast when you schedule it.

What happens if I schedule a broadcast for midnight?
Call Loop will hold your messages and deliver them automatically at 8 AM in each contact's local time zone.

What if my contacts are in different timezones?
Call Loop checks each contact's timezone individually. Held messages go out at 8:00 AM local time for each person, so they may send at different clock times across your list.

Do Quiet Hours affect messages already in my account?
Quiet Hours apply to all outbound messages going forward, including any broadcasts or campaigns that were already scheduled.
